expatt - all of my questions were answered.....and this fact alone, helped greatly in becoming, comfortable with our decision.

i did not send resumes out of the blue....i am registered with uni fair. Aramco is listed and will be at uni fair.

my certifications: k-9 elementary, k-12 pe, 5-9 math, curriculum and instruction.

after the interview, we are now comfortable with our decision, if offered positions.

we are a humble family.

the interview went great.

as for contacting Aramco, i did nothing special, all i did was send a simple message to admin.

trust me...we have been thinking mainly about what is best for our family and for the school...family first though!

i like to believe, i have the integrity to walk away from money. due to the fact, i exited a good salary in 1996-98 to begin a career in education.

74K was a large salary, during those years.

i have not even been offered a position, but i enjoy discussing hypotheticals.

speaking of which.....does anyone have information on the hypothetical tax? i have read up on it....but i like to hear from others.

I grew up in smalltown Kansas, I like to think, I have experience with the "fishbowl effect".

Being contacted by Aramco has moved quickly and their principal would like to speak with me and my wife, via skype or phone.

another concern I have is.....the ability to leave the country, due to emergency issues. main issue being, i believe my dad will likely pass, while we are away.

from what i have read, this evening....there is much buearcracy that needs to take place, in order for me to leave. help?

Our goal is to teach in Korea, but at the same time, I would like to learn about other schools.
Now that we have mentally committed to international teaching, I am willing to teach in nearly any environment. It is my daughter and wife, that I am concerned with.
It would not be a good experience to live two years of this life, behind a compound wall.

I have been in a public school setting, my entire career. A close friend is currently employed at Seoul Foreign School and has been recruiting us for the past 5 years to look at teaching in Korea.

We would tell him each time...."we like our simple Kansas life"

Our life goals have changed this past year. We now would like to live small and save, save, save. As our goals are now to teach for the next decade and retire at 50 and 47, God willing our health remains good.

The Director of Human Resources has informed us that our information has been passed on to HS and MS principals and look forward to meeting with us at the UNI Fair.
