Re: Application Advice

Apply for as many jobs as you can. Then you can choose if it comes to that. Nearly 20 means nothing today, especially with your experience. Good luck!

Re: 3S - Safety + Savings + Satisfaction

TASIS Lugano is one of the lowest payers in Switzerland, I would go for Lausanne, Geneva or Zurich for all of the above. Top schools in Thailand will also do.

Re: Living and salary in Zurich

Doable, the salary would be around 95k. The tax is not 30%, but considerably lower. You would live well on that money, but not Thailand style on an elite school package. I have lived in both countries, it depends what do you want really. Asia amazing for travel, eating out, no domestic work. Europe less travel but still plenty, as switzerland is in the middle of Europe and you can drive to most places. I would say that in Asia you would live like an executive while in Europe you are just someone with an average lifestyle (cooking, cleaning, not out all the time, etc). Good luck, both countries are great places!

Re: Swiss Salary?

I doubt that they pay that much, but I am not 100% (I do know people who have worked there and the pay doesn't seem to be anywhere near 150k). On my list, IS Geneva and the Zurich schools are top non-profit in Switzerland. Even if it was that kind of money, if you count the boarding hours it doesn't look that good anymore. Good luck!

Re: Swiss Salary?

I haven't heard of teachers with no additional allowances making 150k, please name the school. I do know people who make that kind of money, but they are in a higher position than a HoD.

Re: Swiss Salary?

Most probably between 80 and 100k for a teacher with no additional responsibility , plus schooling, but no housing allowance. The schooling is not taxed as in Germany/Austria and taxes are far lower. Health insurance expensive but very good, not included in the package either. Some schools do have a max point on the scale. Good luck!

Re: Bangkok

Top schools in Bkk:
ISB, NIST, Patana, Harrow, Shrewsbury. They are all top schools, even though ISB might pay more than the others. All pay far more than 100 K ThB, plus excellent benefits. St Stephens definitely lower league.

Regents Pattaya nowhere near these schools.

Re: Cranleigh Abu Dhabi

At the moment they live in a hotel, school pays. In future they will live on school campus, living on saadiyat is expensive indeed.

Re: Cranleigh Abu Dhabi

Promising place, but working in a new school is incredibly hard. I do know people who work there.

Re: Any Information on Brighton College Al Ain UAE?

Good salary, ok-ish housing and health insurance. Fairly dodgy owners, huge staff turnover in the Abu Dhabi school. They've tried to shaft people with cash at the end of the contract for two consecutive years. I would give it a miss...
