Also, perhaps there is a vice principal, director, department head or senior colleague that you can get a better reference from? When asked for a current reference, you can list one of these people instead. And only explain your situation if the recruiter insists on having your current principal as a reference.
This has worked for me in the past (and admittedly that means IN THE PAST) and would like to know what you guys think about it now...
When I got to the front of the line (usually, but not always) with "interview request slips" from the school, I would hand them a different version of my resume. This version would also be on high-stock resume paper, but two-sided and be a majorly cut down version of words but filled with color-printed pictures of me in action in my classroom. The text would highlight things like years of teaching, education, workshops attended, and that's about it. Good luck.
Thanks ichoro! I took your advice and made a double sided colour brochure on glossy colour laser printed paper, with buzz words and photographs of me doing lots of extracurricular and hands-on activities, and the recruiters loved it at the interviews! They said it was clear, and demonstrated my creativity and ability to manage technology and create documents. And personally, I really do think it shows a lot more of my skills and abilities than a regular resume does.
It even led to a great job offer!
Thanks for the fantastic advice!

Colegio Jorge Washington Cartagena Columbia
I have an interview with Jorge Washington in Cartagena coming up. There are a couple of outdated reviews on this school, and they sound way too negative. Does anybody have any balanced information about this school or region? It seems like a quiet town, and I'm more of a city and nightlife type of person.

Germany Phorms
I got an interview with Phorms with several vacancies throughout Germany. Their listed salary is 34000-50000 Euros with no housing allowance or accomodation. Is it just me or does that salary seem kind of low?

Salalry in Dubai
What is a reasonable salary that I should be looking for at an international school in Dubai?
I have a Masters Degree in education and 6-7 years teaching in Canada. I have experience teaching at a few different courntries abroad too, but they weren't IB or international schools.
Any information would be appreciated before the interview.

Thanks for the reassuring pep talk psyguy!
I'm not with Search, but I am with another fair who gave us a scary warning story about this guy who signed two contracts and reneged on another, and both schools found out, and he ended up with no contract. I understand now that there is a clear motive behind this story for the fair organizers.
I haven't had any offers yet, so it's probably futile to even have such worries at the point anyway. I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling stressed with a million thoughts of what ifs running through my mind.

How bad is it to cancel a contract after signing it?
What would happen if I signed a contract, and then renege on it because a better offer came up? Is that a huge no no that would get me blacklisted, or would anybody care?
