Dilemna/Questions....
So I sense an offer is forthcoming from Hisar School (http://www.hisarschool.k12.tr) in Istanbul. I am scheduled for my 3'rd and final interview later in the week. I am excited about this school and location. I am also new to being an IS teacher - but have been in education for 15 years in public schools in the US. A few concerns - why hasn't this school been reviewed on ISR? I can't find hardly any info. on them. Is this a good or bad thing? Secondly, according to the Search profile on this school, the $ isn't all that great. I know Turkey isn't a high paying area, but the housing/moving package isn't bad. Hence my question, is it common to negotiate salaries with IS's (within reason of course)? I guess I am used to the US school system - where the salary chart says it all. Any info. appreciated.

Frisco Fair update
Update from the Frisco fair...... 1 word... LAME
I think a total of 46 schools made it. Several cancelled last minute. Not many positions at all. 240 candidates attending. You do the math and figure the odds.
Thankfully I did secure 5 interviews, but only 2 are really strong considerations. The others are just confidence boosters and interviewing skills maintance.
Lots of grumblings on the elevator rides to the rooms. I think most candidates are highly disappointed.

Yeah - I agree.... I may end up bagging out on Sunday and going to see Alcatraz (always wanted to see) LOL. Seems like it has been a rather odd year for recruitment/hiring. I am personally holding out hope for SAS in Singapore. Waiting on that call back. Should it come before the flight leaves for SFO I may just bag it all together.

Frisco outlook...??
Is it me - or do the schools attending San Francisco and accompanying pay look rather meak? I am not holding my breath and am rather disappointed in myself for not insisting on an invite to Cambridge. Lesson learned I guess. Just curious what everyone else thinks.

Explanation of TIER LEVELS??
Greetings - I am new to this whole INT'L thing and have learned without IB/INT'L experience, I should stick to applying at "Tier 2" schools as "Tier 1"/"elite" schools would be overshooting and expecting to much. My questions:
1. Is their a standard definition for the various tier levels?
2. Is their a listing of the schools for each tier level?
Probably wishful thinking, but thought I woud ask.
Any info. appreciated.
