Thanks, so in which case it is fine to refuse a job if the package is not good enough even after interviewing for the postion and selling yourself to the school (I guess I am coming from the position of a UK teacher, where it is assumed that if you are interviewing for a job it is more or less under the assumption that you want that job and will accept it if it is offered to you). For example if a flight is only offered every 2 years, rather than 1, or if the salary scale, CPD opportunities aren't as good as you would wish, and this was a factor which was important enough for you, that this is cerdible for refusing a job, and you wouldn't be seen as stringing the school along? Sorry if this sounds daft, i am very new to this.

At what stage do you discuss the package?

We have few interviews coming up, and I was wondering at waht stage it is appropriate to discuss the package, if the school doesn't being it up themselves during the interview? Should you wait until they make an offer to then discuss? Obviously package is vert important, but I don't want to come across as merely package-driven.

Thanks.

Dulwich College Beijing?

We are looking for a move that will allow us to both save a decent amount of money and also get some good professional development. Does anyone know anything about Dulwich College Beijing? Also, we would be taking a young family with us, how bad is the pollution, is it really a reason not to go? Thanks.

Well we are applying as a couple and so have separate covering letters. Also I like to send the covering letter as PDF as I think it looks more professional. I have not idea that I am right though!

sorry about the typos in the above mail

Does anyone have any advice on this? Should it just be a one liner - please find attached our application... or should we sell ourselves in the email body? Sorry if this seems an obvious question, we are brand new to the international circuit.

Thanks.

How much information should be included in the email body?

we are a taching couple, applying to schools using one email with separate cvs abd separate cover letters attached. Is this the correct format? On top of this, how much information should be included in the email body?

Thank you.

PsyGuy Can i ask, when you say that your associate doesn't help you get a job, do you still send an email to the school via the database highlighting your interest, or do you write directly to the school following their website instructions? This is what I am concerned about, which is better to do?

In addition, I would be worried to apply to schools directly, rather than thorugh the database, as we've been asked to attach the Search associate to any emails for jobs not through the database, so would feel like we were not following his instruction.

applying to schools directly or through SEARCH?

Hi,

We are first time SEARCH candidates and have been recommended by our associate to apply to the schools through the database by sending an email of interest, as opposed to through the schools websites. I am concerned that on the schools' websites many are asking for a cover letter or an electronic application. We have applied to a couple of schools so far through the database and not heard back, and I am wondering if schools take these applications seriously, or whether we should be going through what they ask on the websites. Does any one have any knowledge/experience of this?

Thanks for your help.
