Thanks for the replies both of you. It seems like I am doing the right thing then. I have been using the search function and I am going to be going to a fair too. I just wasn't sure if I was missing something as I never hear from my recruiter and I was a bit unclear if/how I was supposed to contact schools.
Thanks for clearing it up for me.
I have seen a couple of positions I am interested in and the schools will be going to the fair, so I will contact them. Thanks for your help!

Getting the most out of Search?

Hello,

I recently joined Search associates, but having never used them before, I'm not sure I am getting the most out of it. Can anyone advise me? Since I was accepted I have heard nothing from my associate. I have seen some positions of interest come up. I am not sure how to apply? The Search website says you *can* contact schools by email but they might not reply as they have so many people contact them. How am I supposed to apply then? Do I have to go to each school wesbsite and fill out their own application form? This kind of defeats the purpose of joining Search then?
Thanks in advance for your help

Thank you for your reply and explanations Psyguy.
In the UK the two fairs held in January are run by Search and CIOS/CIS and I am having a hard time deciding which one I should sign up with? It seems that in the UK Search (British branch) cannot charge the fee for legal reasons, so both would be free. It seems the application process for Search is more complicated. I teach primary (UK national curriculum) so I am wondering if one company/fair is better suited to my qualifications than the other? Or if it really makes no difference.

Hi musings28! Thanks very much for your reply. Sounds like Search are treating you well! Sorry about Teach Anywhere, but seems like you got a better deal at Search! I think Cois (Council of International Schools- actually I think they call themselves CIS but COIS is the website) must be a British thing! It seems like they only have a fair in London. Maybe they are a British branch of something else.
Good luck with the job search. let us know how you get on!

Which company/fair to choose?

Hello!
I am new around here and I have been trying to do a bit of research on which company to use to help me with my first international post. I have found Cois, Search and Teach Anywhere. From the looks of it Teach Anywhere does not hold a fair so is more of a placement company (suggesting schools/teachers to each other?). The other two hold fairs and so do not suggest specific schools to you? I am thinking of signing up to either Cois or Search and going to the London fair. Does anyone have any tips on one being better than the other or how to choose? I don't think I want to go to both.
Thank you for any information!
Edit- I am a Primary teacher if that makes any difference.
