They also have tendency to 'raise the bar to high.'

I did not know whether to laugh or cry when they listed the requirement MA plus ten years experience in one of my former schools, which is Tier 3 on a good day!!! An 'international' school by title and that is it.

I am cautious with that group.

You are right, the so-called "international" schools in Turkey are not really international. The reason behind this is that if one is a Turkish citizen, h/she must follow a rigid curriculum set by the MOE. It is only a few schools in Turkey that are truly open only to foreigners. On the top of my mind one is Istanbul Community School and the other two, MEIS(sp?) are in Istanbul and Izmir. Prospective students must have passpost from countries outside of Turkey in order to apply to the real International Schools.

Kulture2000 school in Turkey-CAUTION!!!!!!!

This is more or less my fault for not using more caution.
Recently, a school in Istanbul sent me an email asking me if I was interested in teaching grade 2. The following email asked me to send all my certificates, transcipts passport information and diplomas.
After a few days of not hearing back from them, I sent them a 'follow-up' email inquiring my status in this so-called interview process. All I got in return was that they filled the position.
