If you want to work on the international school circuit, you'd better get used to it - it is a pre-requisite in many countries, a standard practice. In my third country now and in each have had to undertake - in country - HIV test, chest x-ray, even in one country cardiograph, eye test - colourblindness, hearing test.

I think you mean Shanghai Rego International School.
I have been here 3 years and have been very happy, many would tell you similar, some would tell you otherwise.
Much depends upon whether you are in Primary or Secondary. Personally the latter, small classes of mainly, respectful, nice, motivated kids. A competitive package compared to the other international schools in Shanghai. Well resourced pleasant site out in the South West suburbs of the city.
