opinion sought, retiree wants to enter International Educ.

Dear International Educators,

First of all, I am very happy to have found this website.I would like to solicit some advice from some of you veterans concerning my chances of entering the field of international education at the age of 60 years.

Some background info. about myself- I earned my B.S. in Education in 1970 but only worked as a substitute teacher for a short time soon after. I then earned my M.A. in Recreation Administration and subsequently owned a small business for 30 years. I am now retired and single with no dependents and would like to break into the international school scene.

Basically,I would like opinions and advice about how realistic this goal is for somone of my age. Am I too old to start this endeavor? Am I too inexperienced to compete? Does Administration at these international schools value older workers? Would my experience in business be considered an asset to a school? My teacher certification lapsed many years ago.

Any guidance, suggestions, and/or advice would be greatly appreciated.
