Utahloy International School in Guangzhou
Anyone have experience at this school? There is a new head of school but there seems to be turmoil. Should someone accept a job at this school?

I work and my husband stays home. We have also been married for two years. It has been the most difficult for him as he would like to be working and feels he is not contributing. What works for one person may not work for another. My husband is trying to get something started in the place we work but it is difficult. The employer has not made things any easier by placing us in a small one bedroom apartment with no storage area. I think that if your husband is the sort of person who can keep busy and has the kind of job that warrants travel, your idea of traveling away to France and/or his visiting occasionally might work. If you ask me if we will do this again...yes as a matter of fact. We will move to a new position in August of this year. Is it for everyone...I don't think so. You have to do what is right for you.

I have used this recruiting source and have received one call from a headmaster regarding a job. I am not sure whether it is viable for someone looking for job as you cannot contact them. It's free but so what if there is no way for a two way dialogue

Joyjobs
I have personally used joyjobs and even though they mirror jobs posted on other sites. They also have other jobs posted by private enterprise or members of the global community that would not be other wise posted on such sites as TIE online etc. I think it is good to spend a few dollars being a member of various sites. If you want to take the time and search each school, give Shambles of Asia a shot. The information on his site is awesome.

I am also a teacher in her mid fifties and have enjoyed working overseas for 8 years. I agree with the post that energy levels have not diminished. In fact I can work circles around many younger and of my age. As for job hunting, I think it can be much more difficult but if you have what they want they will want you.
