Which international school will be the first to go tech free??
With all the tech warnings from 60 minutes to the NYTimes to the Waldorf school in Silicon Valley it seems almost inevitable??
Any guesses??

Re: Qatar right now
For an international perspective:
https://www.theatlantic.com/internation ... /529479/--
....... it’s worrisome to see Trump applying his transactionalist approach so breezily. Without partnerships, U.S. counterterrorism policy suffers. Without partners, U.S. foreign policy flounders.
For a personal perspective, many teachers spent thousands of extra dollars changing flights to get home for summer. And many people are worried about the future of Qatar.

Re: Qatar right now
Yes, actually!
There are 180,000 Egyptians working here in very important white collar jobs.
Many Saudi's travel here for holidays.
Plus many of my students parents are Qataris married to people from Saudi, Bahrain and the UAE.
So thanks Trump your Tweets are messing up the world!

Re: BRINGING A FAMILY INTO QATAR?
Ramadan is moving the other way.... it will be mid- May next year NOT mid June.
I have never had any debt... I just don't want to mess with a Qatar Bank.

Re: BRINGING A FAMILY INTO QATAR?
Here is the credit card problem.
Before you leave you must go to your bank 45 days before your exit. Then you need to go back 3 days before you go. During Ramadan the bank is open from 9pm until midnight. (And it is busy!) If you have any debt you can't go home.... why risk it??

Re: BRINGING A FAMILY INTO QATAR?
"Real" schools will do this for you. I have been here many years and the best schools will get your RP ( residential permit) for you and your family. Also DO NOT get a Qatar credit card only get a debt card!

Dredge is right on the money!
Throw in the local teachers and you will know your place in these schools.
If you don't have your own kids in the system and like to leave school at 3:30, it can be a very nice life!!
