Re: DoDDS Teaching
I'm just curious...when applying for a DODEA job they ask for Praxis scores. As a Georgia certified teacher I took a GACE test, not a PRAXIS. Does DODEA accept state specific certification tests or do I need to take the PRAXIS?

Re: List of Schools for TS and Dependents
One kid will be in college and out of the house before we try our international journey. Sorry for the confusion! ;)

Re: List of Schools for TS and Dependents
shadowjack: I am tempted to try QSI (especially since the Stans appeal to my family) but I hear so many mixed reviews. There are some QSI schools on my list for sure though!
IAMBOG: I have lists and lists! I went back to school four years ago (with three kids at home!) so I could get a teaching liscense and teach overseas. I have definitely done my fair share of daydreaming and researching every school. ;)
Its good to know that the schools that absolutely do not take trailing spouses say so on their Search profile. I haven't signed up yet but I will as soon as I get certified.
Thanks Everyone!

List of Schools for TS and Dependents
I would like to compile a list of schools that do not shy away from a teacher with a Trailing Spouse and (2) kids. I am going to be entering the international circuit in two and half years and I am a big pre-planner. ;)
(DODDS is my ideal/dream job, but I need to be realistic about my chances (History teacher) and look all over.) So if you've been to a school that is great and doesn't mind dependents, let me know!

Any updates on DODEA?
I am a year away from finishing my MAT! (finally!!) The dream that has been sustaining me for the past four years (teaching for DODEA) is looking more precarious all the time. I was hoping someone with intimate knowledge of their operations could let me know the nlatest status of:
1. closures and/or openings of schools
2. hiring (do you still need two years experience before applying? The web info looks different but that could be wishful thinking)
3. best certifications (I will have one in History upon graduation but can easily test out for ones in Science, Middle School Math, etc.) I will be certified for 6-12th grades.
4. anything else I'm forgetting
I know this has all been discussed on the forum before but it seems like a lot has changed on the past year.
Thanks!
