Thank you, PsyGuy!
1) We have already taken the PRAXIS ESOL test 5361 as well as the PLT: Grades K-6 and each have a current DC ESL endorsement.
2) We are currently teaching and will have two years of post certification teaching experience at an accredited IS in approximately two years. :)
3) We both already hold Masters degrees in education.
It sounds like we just need to wait two years then. Thanks so much for your help!!

Transfer Certification from Washington D.C. to California
Good afternoon, everyone!
My husband and I recently obtained our Washington D.C. teaching certifications via the Teach-Now online program, and now we would like to have them transferred to California. Specifically, we do not want to worry about acquiring / documenting PD while abroad. Do any of you have advice on how to complete this process?
Thanks! :)

Types of Teaching Certifications
Hello everyone! My husband and I have a question regarding types of teaching certifications. We are currently enrolled in Teach Now in order to become certified teachers. We both have a Master's in Education with a certificate in English Language Learners. Additionally, we both teach elementary school in an international school in Bangkok. I teach first and second grade IL (ESL), and he teaches 3rd grade English and 6th grade IL.
We need to decide which type of certification to pursue within the next few months. We were both considering English as a Second Language (ESL), however, we have heard that the chances of gaining employment at a top tier international school grow exponentially if the certification is in mathematics or one of the sciences. Our experience (approximately 5 years) lies in teaching ESL, however, we are both adept at math and science and are confident that we could pass the exams with a bit of review.
Our goal at this point is to expand our career opportunities as much as possible. Any input on this conundrum would be much appreciated. Thanks! :)

Teach Now vs. Teacher Ready
Good morning, everyone! My husband and I are looking to get certified soon and are considering both the Teach Now and Teacher Ready online certification programs. We are currently working in an international school in Bangkok and hold master's degrees in Education with a focus on English Language Learners. We are American citizens, however, we would NOT like to have to return to America for any testing. We would appreciate any input on either or both of these programs, or, if you recommend a different program entirely, we would love to hear about that, too!
Thank you so much for your help!
