My thoughts exactly.
I'm curious, though. Why is Maya considered first tier?

Re: Colegio Maya

Thanks, I appreciate it.
I loved Guatemala when I traveled through it. I never really thought of teaching there, but my options are limited. I am currently finishing off my teacher cert/M.ed after teaching ESL in Taiwan for 11 years. I need some international school experience before I can get picky.
thanks again

Colegio Maya

Hi - I haven't been able to find any recent reviews of the American International School of Guatemala.
Does anyone know anything about it?
thanks

Re: CZOIC?

Thanks for your input, eion; I appreciate it.

I'm sure it will be a bit of a shock. Taiwan is like China lite. I wish we didn't have to move, but the options here are limited.

I have an interview this week, so that will help me get a feel for it. Any idea what tier CZOIC would be considered to be?
Thanks again!

Re: Bespoke Curriculum

Hi
Have you checked out the International School of Brussels' Common Ground Curriculum?
It's pretty impressive.

CZOIC?

Hi, I did a search here, but not much came up. I also saw the info on the Search Ass site.
Has anyone had any experience with Oxford International College of Changzhou?
It's a relatively new school and it has just moved to an impressive looking new campus on a lake (they've even got a rowing club).
It seems to have a predominately Chinese student base, but their approach to education seems to be more worldly. I can't be too picky as I'm looking for my first international posting after teaching ESL in Taiwan for 11 years.
Thoughts on the school or on the area in general?

Thanks!

Re: Taipei European School

Hi
My sister in law works there and likes it. I don't know much about it though.
My wife and I are Canadian and have been living in Taipei for 11 years and love it. Both of our kids were born here, too. I've traveled 5 continents and it is one of the safest cities of its size that I've come across. Centrally located for great travel destinations and the rain isn't too bad ( the humidity in the summer is another story). Mandarin is hard to learn, but basic knowledge of it would be beneficial as the locals' English skills aren't great, especially outside of the city (but that's a visitor's problem, not theirs).
Someone new to SEA might be taken aback by the cultural differences, but I wholeheartedly recommend living in Taiwan
