Could he find an IT job? That's what my other half does, and that's actually more lucrative than my teaching job that we moved overseas for in the first place! Even in places that don't have English as a native language there are usually plenty of opportunities if you're willing to look :-)

I'm actually kind of fond of this particular "fishbowl!" The last time I worked in a similar "fishbowl" (boarding school in the mountains), I absolutely LOVED it and can actually think of no better situation for me!! And looking at the info about the other staff, I just can't help but keep thinking how similar they are to me and how great it would be to be surrounded by people like that all the time! I sent in an application and now it's just waiting to see if I get a call back. Happy thoughts/ good karma appreciated! :-D

How to list a trailing spouse on Search?

I'm a qualified teacher looking for a position, and my spouse would trail me. My spouse works online so can do it from anywhere in the world and be totally financially independent so wouldn't be a financial strain on any school I work for. The only thing is that we would of course want to live together so if I guess if the school provides housing that would be an expense. Should I list my spouse's profession on Search Associates or just say nothing about it? Would the income separate from mine have any sort of sway in hiring decisions? Thanks!

St. Gilgen International School

Does anyone know anything about this school? Looking at the website, it looks like my dream everything! A great academic philosophy, an awesome community, a great place....!! I would LOVE to work there, so if anyone has any insights I would be most appreciative. Thanks!!

Re: Thanks :-)

Thanks Sid, I've been starting to get a bit down on myself but I have to keep remembering that it's most likely not me and just "keep on truckin'!"

Re: Putting all of the Eggs in one Basket...not what to do..

Why not keep trying for another job? I'm seeing lots of people don't get hired til February, April, or even as late as June! There's still time to find a good fit job!

Re: How much is too much?

Thanks wrldtrvlr123! I'm trying not to get invested too much in any specific school but I have to admit I was very excited when I got the email! He probably did just end up finding someone at the fair and decided not to pursue me anymore... I just keep making up bad situations in my head that are probably way out of proportion! I'll shoot him another email in another week or so and then leave it at that...
