Hi,
Florida DOE does accept college credits, if you are not currently teaching you may take college courses from an accredited college or university in the state of Florida. You must take as part of your renewal 2 college credits on Special Education, the other credits can be in anything related to teaching and education. YOu need a total of 6 hours (2-3 hr classes)which can all be done online. Hope this helps the website is http://www.fldoe.org/teaching/certification

Re: Recruitment Agencies
Please clarify, I have SA membership from Feb 2015, I accepted position (through them) and received a letter stating that I could pay another fee if i wanted to search again when i'm in the market for a job. What I'm reading states that I can search indefinitely. Any thoughts?

Teacher Librarians
I've accepted a position as a Teacher Librarian and am wondering if there are any Teacher Librarian (TL's) list servs for the overseas librarians or advice anyone can offer. I have MLS in library science, have six years 6-12 experience (US), eight years at comm college and one year overseas librarian at men's college (post high school) Any thoughts, advice greatly appreciated.

Re: Search Assoc?
Hi,
In speaking with friends, i am less sure of paying someone who does not respond to SIX emails but has time to generate an invoice. Those of you that use SEARCH, can you switch recruiters? Mine is Not responsive nor is she proactive. Any thoughts on TIE?

Many thanks!!! My understanding is the recruiter "matches" you , sends your credentials and arranges interview? yes/no?

Search Assoc?
Hi I am not new to international teaching but am new to using a recruiter and am more than a little concerned with Search Assoc. I am asked to pay a $225 fee to a recruiters home address, not a corporate address with no guarantee that there are any TL jobs even available through them. Any insights, Anyone? Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.
