I wonder if anyone can help me. I really would like to work in South America, preferably Peru or Brazil. The problem is that the schools with a Northern Hemisphere calender currently don´t have a job in my subject (ICT). Rather than accepting a 2 year contract in a country I don´t particularly want to work in, should I take 6 months off as my current contract ends in June. Has anybody been to the AASSA fair before in Nov? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have never used Search, but have used tieonline. I have to say I've been disappointed by the quality of the schools on there. Perhaps it's just my subject, but I found far better jobs on TES.

This school I didn't even bother applying to! I just accepted that my 2 (IB) experience wasn't going to be enough. It is one of the top paying schools and as it's in Thailand it is very, very popular. Apparently they get hundreds of applications. I have known people far more experience than me, with Master degree, excellent references to not even get short listed. Unless very, very lucky I wouldn't have high hopes.

I also expected there to be more jobs in the region. As far as I know, the top-tier schools follow our calender anyway so they should have been advertising now. It's especially strange as many schools in South America don't pay particularly well. Those influenced purely by money tend to look elsewhere.
