Re: Albanian College? Anyone?

I lived in Albania many years and had a good experience. Traffic is terrible but not the only place that has traffic problems. Certain areas are dirty and trashed but this is getting better with time. Albania is definitely developing and is going through some positive changes. There is some crime such as pickpockets, curruption, ect. but I have never heard of anything with machetes.

Re: Advice for getting started with international schools

Hi! There is an International School in the Balkans that hires uncertified teachers. There is a teacher there now who is going through the TeacherReady program to get his certification. PM me and I will give you more details.

Re: Singles with dependents

I am also single with a school aged dependent and would love to hear what is out there. Although China is not an option as all I have read is how terrible the pollution is. I am open to everywhere else though.

Re: Global Bilingual Academy in Kuwait

Does anyone have any information on this school? Now that the school year is in full gear, how is the school doing overall? How are the students/staff/teachers/admin./parents? I can see the area is a bit boring from the other comments, has that changed at all? I will be coming with my 4/5 year old, Are there any parks or play area in the area? Thanks in advance for any info.

Re: Is The International School Of Krakow a boarding school?

I visited ISK in 2008 and it wasn't at that time. I don't know about now but from looking at their website, I don't think so.

Re: Online US teacher certification programs

What about 'American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence'? I don't know anyone who has used ABCTE but it is an online certification program and cost less than TR. Anyone know anything more about ABCTE?

Re: Best Fair for Latin American Schools/Schools to Apply to

datsyukian,

What is the name of the school you are working for? I have a 4 year old son, would you recommend Venezula as a safe place to live for a single parent? Thanks for any information.

Re: how many hours do you work a week?

I work from 8-4 Monday-Friday and 22 of the hours are actual lessons. The remainder of the time is used for planning, meetings, etc.
