I would imagine Venezuela would have to be near the top as well? Especially if you are being paid in USD.

Re: Middle East - Options, Lifestyle and Savings Potential
Oman would be great for the sheer beauty of the place and the laid-back lifestyle. I find Bahrain to be incredibly boring, although there are places to get alcohol, if that is what you fancy. You could also look into an often overlooked country, Jordan. Beautiful country with everything from mountains to beaches, and liquor stores, bars, and restaurants are common in the capital. You can also get pork pretty easily.

Re: Hong Kong
The school we are looking at would give approximately $50,000/month for our housing. We would not be looking in the central areas of HK, but more in areas like Stanley or Repulse Bay. Would this be possible? We are ok paying a bit out of pocket to get something as well. Are Stanley and Repulse Bay the places you would want to live with a family with little ones?

Re: Hong Kong
Thanks for the reply. It sounds like you are working at the school that my wife and I are looking at. What does those who choose to have the school provide housing generally end up with? We have two little kids and outdoor space is critical to anywhere we go. Would you take the allowance? Can you find something in Stanley or Repulse Bay of adequate size for the allowance? Thanks

Re: Hong Kong
How does the housing allowance stack up at a place like HKIS? I know you can choose that vs. having them find you a place.

What are your thoughts on housing in HK, and the availability of outdoor space/amenities for kids? If you were at a top school, would your housing allowance, or housing provided by the school, be of decent quality?

Aramco Offer
Has anyone gone through the entire hiring process with Aramco? Just wondering what you do since it's a conditional offer until you pass background, reference, and health check-ups that tend to take months. Do you continue to recruit or is this "binding" for Aramco?

Bangkok Fair Set-Up
My wife and I are planning on attending Search Bangkok. Most of the other Search fairs have a time specifically for leadership type positions to sign up for interviews before the general candidates. Usually it's a half hour to an hour before the rest of the candidates. Is that true in Bangkok as well? I didn't see it on the itinerary. It benefits us greatly as my wife is lumped into the leadership category because of her position. Thanks

Re: Azerbaijan
So if you are at a top school there, do you think it would be a place you could live for a few years? What are the good things about the country vs the negatives?

What are your thoughts on the country, and specifically Baku? Could you save some money or is it outrageously expensive like many other oil capitals?

Re: Schrole
Search is not enough anymore, especially if a school is using Schrole. You need to fill out the Schrole application as well if you are going to have any chance of consideration. Almost every school on Search now asks you to fill out a separate application on their website. IS Bangkok is on Search and uses Schrole. If you don't fill out the Schrole application, they will not look at you as a candidate regardless of if you are on Search. Experienced this first-hand.

Sao Paolo
Can anyone give me their honest opinion, hopefully from experience, first-hand or from friends of the living and working conditions in Sao Paolo? Are you going to be able to save any money if you are at a top school there? Is it a good place for kids? Is it safe as long as you don't get into the wrong neighborhoods? I know very little about it, but would like to learn more.
