Re: Kinabalu International School

I can't see any reviews on the 'paid for' side either. Does the school have another name? I am interested in applying.

Re: Living and working in Brunei

Anything more on how the introduction of Sharia law is progressing? I've applied for a job at ISB and am trying to keep abreast of the situation - it seems Oman is also going the same way and I've just applied there too! I have a lot of respect for Islam and don't mind dress codes etc, but I do like the occasional G&T at sundown. Can I still do this?

Re: Experienced teacher, Married to non-teaching spouse with

Very interesting. Thankyou. I am in the same position of having a non teaching wife and a school age child. I scraped in on the last recruitment round and am looking to improve my conditions next time. It is a shame that schools are so opaque in what they want and in what they are offering. Why not state the salary, state whether married status is an obstacle, state whether they will accept older candidates?

Re: Living in Malaysia?

Penang is a wonderful place: Georgetown is a lovely old city, the beaches are not the best but are fine and the food is out of this world. Malakka is also nice. KL is like any Asian capital: big, traffic ridden and hot!
