The tide of change is already here. Its "parents" always looking to blame everyone else.
If you are unhappy with the school and teacher - CHANGE SCHOOLS
Instead you have decided to blame 500,000 + expat teachers for your unhappiness. Its quite typical of the new tide of change. Maybe every teacher can send you a dollar? Then you can at least buy a golden copy machine.
Be a parent, vet the schools, and change schools if you are unhappy.
Instead you go on ISS, blame every teacher in China, make very insulting statements, and then think people will take you serious because you threaten to start a lobbyist group.
Good luck.

Chengdu, China Schools
Hi Everyone,
I hope everything is well as we make the final push towards the close of the 2013-14 school year.
I was just wondering if anyone had information about Chengdu, China and more specifically Leman IS and Golden Apple Schools.
According to Search the salaries seem pretty close to the same (about 45-50K after tax) with Golden Apple being IB and Leman offering more holidays and larger living allowance.
I can pretty much assume this salary would be more than enough to live and save (substantially) but was wondering
about working conditions, Chengdu living, etc.
Thanks!

Re: Venezuela
Extremely difficult and dangerous country. The situation will definitely continue to get worse before it gets better.
Be very careful.

Re: Finding work in April
I am registered with Search but always hold out until April-May-June when I choose my next school. I really did not enjoy the Jan/Feb fair scene and the ways schools treat you when they think the perfect teacher is right around the corner.
I have seen amazing jobs come and go from April-July and if you have the intestinal fortitude to wait, it definitely reduces the imbalance of power that schools have when early recruiting.
I definitely recommend Search and/or Tieonline to keep updated with openings. Search sends a daily email that I review and I check on Tieonline frequently. If I see a school/ position I like, I email them and let them know I am ready to make a firm commitment if everything works out. More times than not I am the one being contacted by schools at this late stage which makes life so much easier.
As always, YMMV, but I have always found it an alternative to the cattle call that is Jan/Feb job fairs.
Best of luck!
