I'm in Bahrain,
Apart from the heat, the country is dog friendly.
No issues in bringing dogs in, but it was expensive to air crate my dog.
Walking is fine on the roads if you are out of the city.
There are kennels, the shops sell a range of dog food etc. It was easy to find a maid that would look after him in the day/holidays
Often see owners walking their dogs at dusk when it's cooler.

My present school paid and booked my ticket, and also paid for a hotel for the night before and for transport from my UK home to the airport.
