That works out as about US$57k. How much is it in US$ once you take off taxes and accommodation costs ?
At a wild guess - after using an Aussie tax calculator - after tax it's about US$46000, which if you then take off $1000 per month for accommodation and extra taxes you often won't pay as an expat teacher, leaves you with about US$34000 net. Australia can also be quite an expensive country to live in.
So my guess is that you could find a job at an international school that would give you a higher disposable income. US$40,000 savings per year, however, is a big ask. Good luck !

My Bachelor (Licence in FR) is a standard 3 years level (generally equivalent to the 4-year bachelor in the US) but I enrolled directly in the third year thanks to equivalences. It is more or less a Bachelor of sciences of Social sciences with a strong emphasis on education. So far, I translated it into a B.Ed on my resume and no one questioned it.[/quote]
Please don't do this. The 120 hours of FLS/FLE is closer to a CELTA than a B. Ed. You will probably get away with it (many have)- but it is far from true. In English speaking countries a B. Ed implies that you have studied multiple years of education, and are usually a fully qualified teacher. It's misleading, to say the least.

Re: URGENT: Should I take Teach Now? (with MA in Education from Nottingham)
Part of your issue is that you have the Nottingham iPGCE. It is not very well reputed, and many schools / locations won't accept it as a valid qualification.
You could try to get QTS through the Assessment Only route, which is great if you are already teaching. That would give you a proper teaching certification.

British Schools love an Oxbridge graduate.
The point, of course, that it doesn't make you a better teacher is irrelevant.

Re: How competitive would I be?
Then send your CV to the American and the European schools there. With a PhD and as an experienced and fully qualified / certified teacher you stand a good chance of getting some interest.
There are other international schools on the island. Some of them are the kind that put people off teaching for life though, so be careful.

True - there really only is the European option ;-)
To the OP - do they speak enough Mandarin in Singapore for that to be a possibility ?

Number 1 or 2. Which would depend on the family situation in Canada vs South Korea. Where would you get the best support if you get married and have kids.

As a recruiter, why might one go to Search Cambridge ?

I'd agree with that. Many international schools in good locations with reasonable or good packages may prefer 5+ years experience.
