the advert IS very deceiving, and certainly suggests a different school to the ENS in Abu Dhabi (which has the infamous reputation).

says it all really. I have never worked at this institution but would never work for an employer who so openly is out to deceive.

it is a great shame there is not some "all powerful" institution which could close establishments like this.

By the way, is there a separate ENS in Dubai?
They are advertising heavily in the TES (www.tes.co.uk) and I was wondering if it is a different school to the one in Abu Dhabi? (or is it a new school?). Anyone know?

Also, any school that lets you "teach what you like" can't be that good,can it? There's versatility and versatility. I teach TOK and Philosophy-does that mean i can teach science and maths?

What about all the negatives of the school? The negatives are bound to outweigh the positives.....

Agree with previous post (apart from the 15-20 complaints not being a great deal!) All my research concludes that this could be the worst school in the world! Is there any way of combining this thread with the other so we are not contsantly having to talk between the two threads?

This place sounds like absolute hell. I've read a lot of reports about International Schools but they pale in comparison to this place. It's a shame that a list of "Best Schools" and "Worst Schools" can't be compiled. This place would easily get last place according to all the reviews (on various bulletin boards that I've seen). Does anyone out there have an ACCURATE idea of teacher turnover/how many teachers work there at the moment?
I can't understand how CIS/Global Links allow this school to continue to recruit. Does nobody complain to the main recruitment agencies?

Don't understand the personal attacks on people who write out advice in this forum. If someone has had a bad experience- the whole point of this site is to warn others of it. Why "Garnetttulip" was singled out- I'm not sure. Fair enough he/she comes back to the site to write- that's the point of the forum. Why should someone try to stop this? That is something that really concerns me....

In some ways I agree, for a school to improve it needs stability, and for the time being Emirates National School hasn't got that stability. However, I remain unconvinced in taking a job at this school. There are a few too many negative comments here and in other discussion forums to change my view. That is not to say if things changed, I couldn't be swayed!

Thanks PTF- I have some hope that it is a reasonably good school- as far as I can tell there are some REALLY bad schools out there.

Thanks for the advice- I think you're probably right. Psychology/Philosophy are awkward ones to get jobs in....if the Youth Academy wants both I think we'll apply. It will get us over there- and hopefully we can then move on to a better school later...

The only other school thats really shown interest is the Emirates National School in Abu Dhabi- which sounds like a really bad school. It's simply difficult to get jobs in those subject areas.

I teach IB Philosophy and TOK (already do this in the UK) but am very much looking to move to Beijing. My wife teaches Psychology- this school offers teaching posts for both so we're interested!

Any info that you can give us about any of the Beijing schools would be welcomed...
