Thanks
Thanks very much for all the replies. Everyone makes good points. I myself am a secondary teacher so it is a question of finding a balance between the school-both for teaching and my children's learning and country/standard of living etc but of course my own children's education and well-being comes first. They are currently in a PYP school and it suits my elder child in particular so one reason to find a PYP school is to have some familiarity in a very different environment for them. But of course I am very open to other, excellent schools and systems as well....
Thanks again everyone...

Best PYP schools in Asia?
A similar question to the one below. My own children are PYP age and we are probably looking to go to Asia. Any recommendations for ones with a great atmosphere, a strong PYP program, a good racial mix and small class sizes?
Thanks a lot....

Trailing spouse
Hi everyone
Going recruiting in 2014. A couple of questions about trailing spouses. Does it make a difference whether the spouse is male or female? And as I am gathering together my application materials has anyone got experience with stating up front that you don't need flights/benefits etc for the spouse? My spouse has his own online business and so we are looking at places where he could continue with this. I think it is crucial to try and at least get a foot through the interview door!

Misunderstanding
Thanks to immortus and sid for your kind replies. I would hate to ever sound pompous in any way and when I wrote IB specialist teacher I was only talking about being a specialist in my subject in PYP for example rather than a general primary teacher. Thanks for bringing it to my notice though..I will take care to avoid misleading terms and language in my applications next year..

Further question
Good question and I have a follow up one I am in a similar position to the OP - end of first year at an IB school. PYP and MYP category 1 workshops done. MYP category 2 one next year. Do I then need to do a DP category 1 or 2 before I am fully trained as an IB specialist teacher?
My current school does not offer DP in my subject but I am thinking of the future.
Thanks IB gurus!

Are you MYP or PYP and what subject? And which region are you interested in? There are still plenty of jobs out there...

To the OP: if you are interested in the EU, there are a few MYP English/Humanities/Languages vacancies coming up at the Search London spring fair. Worth a try!

Trailing spouse in ME
Just a quick query...I applied to a school in the ME and was told that my (male) trailing spouse could not come with me and would have to get his own job and sponsorship. Does anyone know if this is correct or were they simply not interested?
Thanks!
Thanks!
