Is search that much better the TIE to warrant spending the extra money on? Does Search have that many more schools post vacancies than TIE? Any suggestions or maybe alternatives?

Thanks for the kind words. I have been blessed with great parents. I preach it to 192 kids almost daily - got 3 very special ones at home too. Can't just talk it, gotta live it too. Enjoy the day.

Thanks but I wouldn't do that out of respect for the teachers who paid their fees to have an opportunity to attend the fairs to seek a job. Doesn't seem right to me.

By welcomed, do you mean that it could very well play into whether they might hire a teacher or not.....or is it just something that won't play a part in a school's decision?

I was wondering how important (in general) sports is to the international and American schools, especially in Europe. I see that many of the European schools belong to the ISST but didn't know how competitive or how much emphasis being successful is to a school.
Both my wife and I have a pretty decent amount of experience coaching different sports and didn't know if we could use this to help us land jobs at a school. We both love sports and would be happy to help coach or assist in a sport or two at the school. Do you think this will help or I guess is it worth pursuing as a second angle to help pad our chances? What are some of the schools (not just Europe) that would take this into serious consideration (if any)?

Is it a big pain to get teaching jobs in Italy?

From the limited research I have donewithinn Italy, it seems like you are required to get a working visa on your own which looks to be quite tough.....Am I correct or just dumb?!?!?

Great idea to have your friend deliver your resume to the admin personally. I didn't think of that. I guess I better try and make some international teaching friends!

You said that you wished you would have used your connections more. How so, just calling them to put a good word iin for you because they were at a school that you desired? Any other way?
