Need Travel Insurance for Summer
Actually, I'd prefer a year-round policy, but I'm looking at US$4,000 for the four of us. We need a cheap policy for the UK and EU. Any suggestions?

Re: Off shore banking
No they're not corrections, although that might be part of it, they are updates, rewritings and addition of information, including new sections. It has nothing to do with ego, although being challenged might be damaging to yours.
But, at the end of the days the basic idea remains the same.
By the way, you brought up zero fee index funds, no one else, when of course you meant low fee. Vanguard and iShares might be cheap, but they ain't free.

Re: Off shore banking
I think he means, in an ideal world, if you can pay into a government pension scheme, you should. I agree with that, but obviously it's not possible for everyone. Brits, for example, can continue to pay National Insurance even if they are non-resident. Also, teachers in Europe should be able to contribute to to their chosen country's social welfare scheme.
I believe zero cost means low cost.

Re: Off shore banking
Actually that's not true, he had a deal with the publisher where he can discretely update the book periodically without the fanfare of a second or third edition. The Mllionaire Expat book you bought five years is not the same as the one you would buy today. I know this because I'm in it and my info has been updated after I supplied additional info.
That said, and I think it was mentioned above, the basic information has barely changed. What has changed is, he has become a better writer with experience and he has adjusted parts of the book to better suit and inform his audience.

Re: Off shore banking
My Canadian account rarely has more than $1000 in it. It's purely for paying a couple of bills and Amazon Prime. If I do need to buy something I use Canadian credit card and transfer funds to pay it off. I haven't been in my current country long, so don't have a credit card yet.
I was with SwissQuote in Luxembourg before, but they asked me to close the account when I moved to my current country. That's why I moved to Saxo in Hong Kong.

My wife and I have a joint trading account with Saxo in Hong Kong (CAD$ account). But we still maintain an account in Canada and a credit card. Hasn't been a problem. Read Andrew Hallam's book, Mlllionaire Expat'. It will tell you everything you need to know.

Re: Update From a Recuirter Regarding China
It shouldn't, as those with work permits may enter Hong Kong with their dependents. Of course, this may change, but currently dependents can enter.

Re: Policies on Friending Students
I've got a few ex-students in my social media. I haven't set myself a particular age restriction, although from memory they had all graduated, but when we connected we were no longer living in the same country.

Re: When did you decide to settle down?
No intention of settling down, although we'll be at our next school, if we ever get there, until our kids graduate (nine years).
Then I imagine myself flying down the Eurovelo 6 and drinking cheap European wine for a few years.

Re: iPGCE for a non native
From my experience NPQ is generally taken by those who wish to move into admin in British schools. Masters, the few I've seen in British schools, tend to belong to teachers who wanted to deepen their subject knowledge.
As it says on the FOBISIA website, "NPQ programmes are recognised across the globe, and offer a unique opportunity to network with other international leaders from across Asia."

Re: International Qualification for Headship (NPQH)
NPQH is widely recognized in British schools, as far as I am aware. I know two people doing it now. It is promoted by FOBISIA. https://www.fobisia.org/cpd/npq
