International Education Center is undergoing the growing
pains of a fairly new institution; i.e. inadequate or no textbooks
and teaching materials, few classroom supplies, and general
school disorganization.
The salary at
Yangon International Education Center for
the teachers hired from the U.S., Australia, and Europe is
extremely low. The housing allowance at
Yangon International Education Center is
also very low and inadequate to pay for decent housing.
There is no pension plan.
Yangon International Education Center has almost a 100% Burmese student population.
The Burmese students, parents, and school staff seem
to respect the teachers and support them as much as possible.
Yangon is
a third world city and so the standard of living is....
