School for Special Needs Kuwait has
a "curriculum" (really more a strategy/policy)
designed for normal toddlers. It does not work for - was not
intended for - older children or special needs kids. It is called "High
Scope" and revolves around free play activities and experiential
learning. It works very well with little ones. It has nothing
to offer older students. But....

kids up to 10- or 11-years old. Most of the students
struggle with....
Each
class at Hope
School for Special Needs Kuwait has
8-10 kids with one teacher, one assistant, and one "helper" -
a filipino girl with a college degree (usually in education)
but who was
hired as a maid, paid 1/4 the amount of an assistant, forced
to live in one room/shared quarters with bathroom and kitchen
accessible
from only an outdoor, uncovered and visible walkway, and required
to comply with an 8:30 pm curfew daily or be....
