I have very fond memories of my time at Al Khor International School and in Qatar itself, my teacher colleagues were amazing and I have made some friends I hope to keep for life. However...

During my time at Al Khor International School the Education Manager ruled from his throne, and when he did venture into the school everyone was very careful about what was said... 

On first arriving at Al Khor International School, you do get a WOW factor, the students are mostly wonderful... 

Al Khor International School is set within the gated community of Al Khor Community. It has its own medical centre (which AKIS staff, from Sept 2016) are not allowed to use. Shops and Al Waha club, which serves very cheap food, but is OK. Great swimming pool and gym. It's almost like stepping onto the set of Stepford Wives... 

Management of the Al Khor International School stifles any... 

It is far better to go to the Ministry yourself, takes about 30mins to renew RPs etc, than to rely on Al Khor International School HR...

The Al Khor International School runs a British curriculum, in name only... 

The expat benefits at Al Khor International School until recently were very generous... 

In conclusion. I am glad I worked at Al Khor International School, I was sad to leave the friends I had made and many of the students, however I was not sad to leave...
