Comments: The majority of the faculty has been at The American School in England for twenty years. There is a definite "this is how it's always been done" attitude. New people are not brought into the fold very well and expected to know their place. A two-year tax-free status for US teachers is used as a tax shelter for The American School in England, but not communicated well to new-hires.....

The majority of the faculty are set in their ways and have no real interest in improving their practice -- counting the days until retirement, so to speak....

Due to the previous proprietary status of The American School in England, many longstanding teachers have special deals worked out that run deep. Even some new hires work out special deals that leave the rest of the faculty feeling....
